How the cannabis SEO loop works.

cbd.domains/seo is the public face of a working agentic-SEO operation built for licensed cannabis and hemp/CBD businesses, not a marketing site dressed up as one. Here's the loop, with all the steps that don't fit on the home page.

0. Why cannabis SEO is organic-only

Google Ads and Meta both ban cannabis advertising, and restrict even hemp/CBD. There is no paid-search shortcut. That makes the whole funnel organic: your Google Business Profile, the Weedmaps / Leafly and Dutchie / Jane menus that function as the cannabis map pack, and the neighborhood long-tails competitors skip. Everything below is built for that reality.

1. Agents draft

We've built agents for the cannabis SEO atomic units — local audits, menu freshness and deal syndication across the aggregators, neighborhood and coverage-zone content, Google Business Profile hardening, citation prospecting, and review velocity. Each agent takes its inputs (a client URL, a menu export, a delivery zone, a target keyword) and produces a draft in the shape the human will work from.

Agents do not publish. Ever. The draft is an artifact the human either approves, edits, or rejects.

2. Humans review — and it's a compliance gate

Every draft passes through a human reviewer before it ships. In cannabis that review is also a compliance gate. The reviewer reads the draft as if it's already on the client's site, then checks it against the state's rules: no medical, curative, or unverified health claims; no youth appeal; 21+ framing throughout; license numbers displayed where required; nothing that puts a Google Business Profile on the suspension line. If a draft is not compliant and client-ready, it does not ship.

This is the part most agentic-marketing pitches skip. The point of agents in cannabis SEO is not removing the human — it's removing the keystroke-level work so the human can apply judgment and compliance review at scale.

3. Tracked, transparent, transferable

Every client gets a dashboard. They see every ticket the agents opened, every link prospected, every ranking move (good or bad), and every dollar invoiced. There are no black boxes.

Data is portable on day zero. If a client decides to leave, they get a full export within 30 days and DNS goes back to them.

4. Per-client privacy on the public feed

The live activity feed on /seo shows real work as it happens — but it never reveals client business names. Only sector, city, and a sanitized verb (“drafted a local audit, ” “synced a Weedmaps menu”). Clients who'd rather stay off the public feed entirely can opt out; their work still runs, it just doesn't appear here.

5. What this stack is

Next.js + Drizzle + Neon + OpenClaw orchestration, on Vercel. The same stack runs cbd.domains and the cannabis rebuilds in our portfolio — a licensed extraction & processing lab, a CBD food brand, and a hemp storefront migrated off Wix. One codebase, one loop, whether the client is a dispensary, a delivery service, or a CBD brand.
